Product Description

This is a charcoal filter for an over-the-range microwave. It is designed to absorb grease before making its way into the vent, which could cause damage or build-up. It also helps to reduce odors while cooking on the stove top. If you notice the exhaust fan of your microwave is not functioning properly, it is likely the filter that needs to be replaced. To ensure it is working at peak performance it should be replaced every 6 months. This part is located inside the intake grille, which will need to be unscrewed and removed to reveal the filter. It is sold individually and measures approximately 5-inches by 5.375-inches. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer, ensuring it will be the correct fit for your model.

Old vent grille cracked
Removed the two screws from the old vent grille and then removed the old vent grille.Since the old vent grille was off I removed the charcoal filter. Replace the old charcoal filter with a new charcoal filter it slide in place ( no screws ) and put the new grille vent in place and screwed it down.

Removed the panel, slid the old filter out and put the new filter in. Replaced the panel.

Filter was dirty and needed replaced
Ordered part from this site and they shipped it the same day it was ordered. I bought it from them since it was an original Whirlpool part. It was also stated on the package that it was an original mfg part. Very easy to replace in the microwave.
