Dryer would stay when you pushed the start button, would not run if you did not hold button in.
Did not know for sure what part was malfunctioning but thought it was worth a try to fix myself, couldn't see spending a lot of money with a repairman on a 15 year old dryer. So I looked at the parts list at Parts Select site and ordered a push to start switch before I even took the back off of the control panel. When the part came in I opened up the back unplugged the dryer, pulled the wires off the old switch and twisted the switch counter clock wise and it came out. then I twisted the new switch into the hole, attached the wires and then crossed my fingers, it worked! Cost $34 not $250 as it would have been with a service guy.

Dryer wouldn't start
The thermal fuse was not the problem for me. I replaced the push to start and that was not the problem either. When I removed the timer it ratttled a little. I ordered it (over$100) and put it in like they said, remove one old wire and connect one new wire because there are a lot of wires. I was thrilled that it worked All worth the wait ing for parts with no working dryer for a total of a week. All the parts I used are easy to do but you have to go step by step and be careful with the screws and gentle removing the wires since they can be tough to get off. I'm so excited to have a dryer working again!
