Brush and Lead

This OEM brush is sold individually, however two are needed in most power tools, and should be replaced at the same time, even if only one is worn. If the motor of your power tool is running poorly, worn brushes are the likely cause. A brush that is worn out will often wear down near the wire lead and can become cracked, pitted, or burned. When replacing the carbon brushes, take this time to check the condition of the armature, if it appears damaged this can indicate more significant motor issues.

Hd.Valve Piston

FIX10246998
Manufacturer Part Number
180450-S
This is a manufacturer-approved replacement head valve and is sold independently. It controls the amount of air that enters the cylinder when the trigger is initiated. This action creates an imbalance in pressure between the cylinder and the air reservoir, allowing the head valve to open, firing the piston. The head valve can harden and crack and the valve body itself can break too. This will usually become obvious because air will leak from the gun exhaust. To access this part for the repair, you will need to remove the top cap from the nail gun.

This carbon brush and spring kit includes a carbon brush, wire lead, and a spring. The parts fit a variety of tools such as saws. If you notice your motor is running poorly or is intermittent, then check the brush for damage, cracks, and burns. It is common to replace the brushes repeatedly as they easily wear off from friction and use. Tip: remember to inspect your armature for burns and cracks when replacing your carbon brushes. This will help identify larger motor problems. This part measures to 3/4 inches in length, 1/2 inches in width, and the 1/4 inches in thickness. Refer to the manual for installation instructions and a list of the parts included.

The 151281-08 Pad is used to hold 5 inch Hook and Loop sandpaper with 8 vacuum holes. Over the past few years the popularity of Hook and Loop paper has grown because of the ease of changing sandpaper when needed. Over that of the PSA (Pressure Sensitive Sandpaper) Applying too much pressure on the sander may cause premature wear on the Hook and Loop pad. When a pad needs to be replaced, simply remove the three screws that hold the pad to the sander, then replace it with a new pad.

This power cord is used for power tools and some of the following tools: electric drills, reciprocating saws, jig saws, biscuit joiners, and routers. The power cord is made for double insulated tools and is a two-wire cord with two prongs, but it does not need a ground wire. If there are cuts in the cord insulation, intermittent power during operation, or damaged and bent prongs, then replacing the power cord will solve the problem. The tools needed for this repair are a Phillips screwdriver, small screwdriver, wire cutters/strippers, crimping tool, and terminal (ring or spade). Repair tip: During installation, remember that new cord wires must go correctly into wire terminals. Also, to avoid pinching when the tool case is put back into place, remember to route cord and wires in the right path.
