Commonly referred to as dog ears, these agitator directional cogs are manufacturer approved replacement parts that come in a package of 4 and are usually used with direct drive washing machines. We recommend replacing all 4 directional cogs at the same time. The agitator directional cogs reach across the gear teeth in one direction and dig into the gear teeth in the other direction to create the needed agitation. This thrusting motion is what tumbles your clothes during the wash cycle. When the teeth on the outer edge are damaged, the cogs will not engage with the upper agitator, making it impossible to agitate as it should. If your machine makes unusual noises, shakes/moves while operating, or will not spin or drain properly, it may be time to replace them. To access this part, simply remove the softener dispenser and then the agitator cap. You will find them attached to the agitator. Each cog is approximately 1 inch long and made of a durable plastic.

Upper agitator stopped working
Followed the simple instructions on youtube, searching for "kenmore upper agitator doesn't work." There are a number of videos there. Find the notch on agitator cover and pry off the cover using a flat screw driver. Remove the nut in the center of the agitator using the 7/16 socket with extension. Remove upper agitator (mine came off easily but some may require removing the entire agitator, then pulling off the upper agitator). Remove assembly from inside and replace the dogs. Reassemble. This is a drain pump motor assembly for washers. This OEM part is responsible for removing water from the washer during the drain part of the cycle. When this part is clogged, damaged or defective it can cause the washer to not drain properly. Keep in mind that the pump casing is sold separately. This repair is rated medium-difficulty and can vary depending on the model. For this repair you will need a Philips screwdriver, a small flat blade screwdriver, needle nose pliers, and slip joint pliers. Do not forget to disconnect the power before you begin this repair. In general, this repair can be started by removing the top of the washer followed by the front panel. Moving down the front of the appliance, remove the door, latch, tub gasket, and drainer cover. The drain hoses and clip will need to be disconnected from under the drain assembly. To install the new pump motor, reassemble parts in the reverse order. We recommend taking photos while disassembling and keeping screws and parts neatly organized.

Water was not draining from wash tub. A code "0E" was showing on the display
Your Youtube video describes the repair perfectly. I'll add: Be careful when removing and placing the control panel on top of the Washer. Once removed, my panel had a wire harness with a zip tied. I cut the zip tie to allow enough slack to lay the panel on top of the washer. No need to disconnect any wires (I put a new zip tie on upon reassembly.) Be careful when removing the retention ring around the Rubber Boot, takes a little finesse, but not too difficult, Don't use a sharp object as you don't want to cut the boot. Make sure the boot is properly seated and the retention ring is securely in place upon reassembly. When removing the old pump my model has the pump held in place with 2x screws (easy to get at from the front) and also slides onto a plastic foot that has a "tab" that needs to be depressed to slide the motor out. You can't see the foot or tab from the front of the washer, as its hidden behind the pump, but fish around with your hand and you'll feel the tab..hold it down and the pump will slide towards the back of the Washer. Thanks, $60 bucks and couple hours was way better than a new $700 Washer. Read more...

Located on the door of front load washing machines, the Door Strike ensures that the door will lock by activating the switch, which in turn allows the appliance to run properly. If your washer door will not open or close, is leaking, or the machine will not start or spin, your door strike may be damaged and should be replaced. Regular wear and tear, or a misaligned door may cause the piece to break. This is an easy repair and requires a Phillips screwdriver. This genuine OEM part is made of white plastic, approximately 2 inches in length, and is held in place by 2 screws on the inside of the door. Simply unscrew and remove the old part, line up the placement of the new part using the notch, and tighten the screws back into place.

Suspension Spring

This suspension spring is a genuine OEM replacement part for a variety of washers and washer-dryer combos. The primary purpose of the suspension spring is to support the outer tub and keep the tub steady during loads that could cause an unbalance. If this part breaks, is worn down, or has stretched out and lost its spring, it could cause the load to be off-balance which can lead to excessive shaking, moving, noise, and leaks. This part is approximately 2 inches in length when compressed, made of durable metal, and is sold individually. For this repair, you will need a 1/4 nut driver, putty knife, flat blade screwdriver, and a pair of needle-nose pliers. Before you begin, disconnect the power, fill hoses, and drain hose to give you easy and safe access (drain hose may release some water, have a small container or towel near by). Your appliance contains 3 suspension springs, so keep this in mind if you need to order multiple of this part. We suggest you purchase several at a time, as they can be very useful to have on-hand.

The drive hub connects the basket of your washer to the transmission shaft, which in turn allows the basket to spin. If your washer will not agitate, spins slowly, or is excessively noisy, it may require a new drive hub assembly. This genuine OEM kit comes with a new hub and a fork holder. To replace this part, you will need to remove the agitator from the tub to expose the hub assembly. Use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the fork shaped holder, and then remove the screws holding the hub assembly to the transmission shaft. Place the new hub onto the shaft, and rotate the washer tub to line up the holes. Once lined up, drill the screws back into place. Please note that this kit does not come with replacement screws, so you will need to reuse the ones from the old hub. The new fork holder is then put through the slotted opening, using a small hammer to tap it into place. Once you have installed the new part, be sure to follow the instructions on the pamphlet provided with the hub to calibrate your washer.

This is an OEM agitator repair kit that includes an agitator cam, four directional cogs, a bearing, thrust spacer, inner cap seal, and washer. These parts are found inside the agitator auger near the top. This kit is used when the top portion of the agitator is not moving correctly but the bottom part is. The agitator is subjected to a lot of force during the wash cycle, so it is common for this part to wear over time, especially if you are consistently over-loading your washer. If your model has a softener dispenser, it will need to be removed to perform this repair. Agitator grease is recommended for this repair, but is not included in this kit.

Agitator not working correctly and leaking from somewhere underneath.
I watched the videos before I ordered the part and when the order arrived I replaced the parts with no problems. The most time consuming part of the job was cleaning the washer. You will be surprised to find what will accumulate down there after years of service. The order came in in record time so this site gets an A+ for being fast and accurate. No back-orders either. I will surely use for any-other parts I need in the future. Read more...

This is an OEM direct drive motor coupling, which provides a cushioned connection between the transmission and the motor shaft. This is the newer version of this part, made with new metal sleeves for added strength. It is located between the motor and transmission on direct drive washers with no belt. If the drive system seizes, the coupling is designed to break to prevent the drive motor from damage. Consequently, this part may need to be replaced as your appliance ages. Never overload your washer, as this can speed up its deterioration. Symptoms of a faulty motor coupling include a washer pumping but not spinning, slow spinning, the washer not agitating, and unusual noises. This coupling kit contains all the parts necessary to replace your existing direct drive motor coupling. Please note, that after replacing the motor coupling your washer may smell like burning rubber for the first few uses, this is entirely normal as the part becomes acclimated to the machine. Each is sold individually.

Washer would not spin or agitate
First, I found it very easy to follow the help on your web site to determine the most likely parts that would cause my problems. The direct drive motor coupling could be the cause of both problems. Also the agitator repair kit was the most likely cause of the agitator problem, So, I ordered both parts. When AI received the parts there were videos included instructing every detail for installation. I just followed the video for the direct drive motor coupling and both problems were solved with the one part. It took about 30 minutes and was a simple installation. .Thanks for your good service. It saved me a service call or maybe a new washer and dryer set. Read more...

The washer drive pulley kit is also known as a replacement clutch assembly, or a cam kit. The drive pulley is found at the bottom of your washing machine, mounted to the drive shaft. Common symptoms indicating an issue with the part include the washer having difficulty with the wash and spin cycles, or is making a lot of noise. It is likely that the splines on the assembly have become stripped, and the assembly will need to be replaced. To do this repair you will need to disconnect the power and water supply to your washer, and place the washer on its back to access the drive shaft. This kit contains 6 different certified OEM parts that make up the clutch assembly, which includes the pulley, 13 mm nut, cover, gear, cam, and spring.
