How to Fix the Moisture Board on a Dryer With a Bad Timer

The sensor board sends information to the control board to set the correct drying times. If it is faulty and unable to send this information, then your timer will likely stop mid-cycle or may not function at all. The sensor board can either experience power supply issues or be damaged by exposure to moisture or general wear.

It is important to use your dryer according to the manufacturer’s instructions, as failure to do so often causes sensor board problems. For example, using the dryer on the wrong setting or overloading the dryer can cause excessive wear and tear on the sensor board. To determine whether the sensor board is the reason behind the bad timer, you will need to visually inspect the board and replace it if it is no longer fully functional.

What is a Moisture Board?

The moisture sensor board works with the sensor bars and control board to set the appropriate drying time for your clothes. The board receives information about moisture levels from the sensor bars and sends this information to the control board, which then adjusts the cycle length as needed to ensure that the clothes are fully dried.

Where is the Moisture Board Located?

The sensor board is located inside the control panel.
