Product Description

This tub spring is a genuine OEM replacement part for your washing machine and is sold individually. There are other names that the tub spring goes by, such as the suspension spring, balance spring, or counterweight spring. The purpose of this spring is to ensure that the tub sits straight during the spin cycle, and it does this by counterbalancing the weight of the motor. If the spring has broken, it will cause the tub to be off-balance, which can make the washer shake and become noisy when spinning. An off-balance tub can also cause damage to other components of your washer, so it should be fixed quickly. If your model of washing machine has more than one tub spring, they should all be replaced at the same time as they tend to wear evenly. The tools you will need to complete this repair are a pair of pliers, a Philips screwdriver, and a flat blade screwdriver. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your washer before beginning this repair.

Hello Fred, Thank you for your inquiry. Usually this is caused by the washer not spinning fast enough to spin all of the water out of the clothes or not draining properly. We would recommend checking the tub bearing, the stator, the rotor assembly, the motor rotor position sensor, and the drain pump. Check the bearing for any visible damage, and you can test the other parts with a multimeter. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

washer would walk and violently shake on spin cycle
On the bottom of the control panel there are two Phillips head screws you have to take out. Flip up the control panel and it will rest on its own hardware. Next pop off both golden locking tabs that are now exposed from underneath the control panel. Now the whole porcelain body will slide off forward. Use pliers to take off and replace th e 4 Springs. Assembly is the reverse.

Pump leaked and needed replaced. Also replaced a rusted spring-unrelated to the pump.
Removed washer shell. Propped washer front on 10 in 2x4 stilts. Unclipped the two clamps that hold the pump. Attempted to remove pump. Unsuccessful. Loosened the clamps that hold the motor and removed the motor. Still unable to remove pump from motor because they are rusted together. Happened to have a spare motor. When the new parts cam e in the mail, I put the replacement motor in the same way the old one came out. In error, I had purchased only one rubeer grommet, so I reused the four old ones. Clamped tge motor in place, Attached the new pump, Reattached the hoses to the pump, Reconnected the electric to the motor, Took out the stilts, Replaced the shell, Reattached the panel, Plugged it in, And started it up. Ready to do two weeks worth of laundry....

Machine vibrates excessively when in spin cycle either with or without clothes in washer.
I watched the video tip on this site and then preformed my repair. This was a very easy repair and my washing machine no longer vibrates excessively in the spin cycle. I used a 5/16 nut driver to unscrew the fasteners and held the bracket with my hand to ease the tension. Make sure to put the spring on the same way it came off the brac ket. Put some grease on the spring tips for lubrication. I had a slight challenge getting the enclosure reinstalled on my machine that took most of the repair time. Thanks for the fast shipping and helpful video on your website. I appreciate saving money and time.

Washer tub was very wobbly, too loose/noisy to use
From the videos on the excellent web site, where instructional videos are available directly on the part-ordering window, I learned how to open up the machine and access the parts that needed to be replaced. I did not take the back off so only changed two of the three suspensions springs plus the tub spring, but the machine now runs fine . I had a little trouble getting the cabinet back on properly.
