Product Description

The washer drive pulley kit is also known as a replacement clutch assembly, or a cam kit. The drive pulley is found at the bottom of your washing machine, mounted to the drive shaft. Common symptoms indicating an issue with the part include the washer having difficulty with the wash and spin cycles, or is making a lot of noise. It is likely that the splines on the assembly have become stripped, and the assembly will need to be replaced. To do this repair you will need to disconnect the power and water supply to your washer, and place the washer on its back to access the drive shaft. This kit contains 6 different certified OEM parts that make up the clutch assembly, which includes the pulley, 13 mm nut, cover, gear, cam, and spring.

Hi Gregory, thank you for the great question. The washer drive pulley kit is also known as a replacement clutch assembly, or a cam kit, it attaches to the basket and rotates the drive shaft. The pulley kit is what spins the basket during the spin cycle. We hope this helps.

Thank you for the quick answer. A follow-up question. The photos for both parts include the pulley and the clutch/cam kit. They look the same except that the pulley in one part is black instead of yellow. Do the photos include more parts than what is specified by the part number?
For model number 3LWTW4840YW1

I have another problem on this washer, No matter how many times I try to recalibrate it it constantly reverts to draining. And the drain could be on for like 15 minutes sometimes. The pumps working and there is no clogs in the drain.
For model number WTW4655JW2
Fix.com logo
Hi Earl, Thank you for your question. If your washer fills and drains at the same time, the drain hose is pushed too far down in the standpipe and it is causing a siphoning effect. The drain hose should not be more than 5 inches down in the standpipe. You will need to reposition it, so the washer can operate normally. We hope this helps!

Would this be the cause of a really loud spin cycle on my washer? sounds like a jet taking off.
For model number WTW4900BW0
Fix.com logo
Hi Eric, thank you for reaching out. A jet taking off sound could be because of the faulty bearings in the gear case, part number FIX16220910, instead of this clutch assembly. You may need to replace the gear case to fix this issue. We hope this solves your problem!

When unit draws water can hear a screeching sound like the water is being drawn through a restricted orifice. Noise starts following a click noise that sounds like a solenoid valve opening. Are there any filter screens on the system that could be calcified causing a restriction? Suggestions as to probable cause of noise?
For model number YWET4027HW0

Hi Jerry, thank you for contacting us. We have concluded that the issue is with the water inlet valve, part number FIX12349484. Good luck with the repair!
