Door Lock Latch electronics went bad and did not recognize the door was latched
The only tool needed is a size 2 phillips screw driver. Remove screws in the back of the washer that hold the top lid on. Pull the lid up from the back, pulling up and back to release the tabs in the front. Set the lid aside. Remove the soap dispenser by opening it up all the way, then press the button in the back-center to release th e locking tab while pulling the tray forward. It will come all the way out. Set it aside. Remove the screws holding the front control panel in place. Pull the front panel out and up and place it on the top of the washer (no need to remove the wires..just turn it 180 degrees and lay it on the top of the machine). The screws holding the front of the washer in place will now be exposed. Remove those screws and pull the front foward, providing a few inches of access space behind it (do not fully remove the front panel). Open the washer door. Remove the screws holding the door lock latch to the front panel. Reach behind the front panel and remove the door lock latch. Unplug the wiring harnesses. Take the new door lock latch and plug in the wiring harnesses. Place the new door lock latch in place. To do this, there are several checks to ensure it is in the proper alignment. There is an alignment tab that fits into a hole in the front, and a square opening for the door latch itself. Put the alignment tab the alignment tab hole and put the latch through the square latch opening. Line up the screw holes that hold the door lock latch in place. Replace the screws in the door lock latch. Reverse the steps above to reassemble the washer.
