Product Description

The door striker is a part found on the door of your washer, and it activates the door switch which signals that the door is closed. This genuine OEM replacement part is also known as a door latch or hook, and it is gray in color and made of plastic. You may need to replace the door striker if your washer will not start, or if the door will not open or close. To complete this repair, you will just need a No. 2 square head screwdriver. Open the washer door and remove the screws holding the old striker in place and attach the new one in its place.

Door would not close/latch.
Removed door from washer. With door on flat surface all the screws are easily removed to replace striker & door hinge/ bushings. Pay attention to bushings position when removing so as to replace them in the same position. Video shows a guy pulling the door gasket off to replace the door lock & switch assembly. Skip that & remove the top c over from the washer. Only two screws in the back hold it on & it's a lot easier to reach inside & pull the switch up than fighting with the door gasket. With the new door hinge, door closes easier & more solid than when brand new. Easy fix.

striker end tip broke inside the safety lock/door closer
the video that I watched the repairman did not show how to remove the ring around the bellow. That is the most important thing to do. I found out about the ring on You Tube. You need to add that step to the video or you won't be able to understand how to move bellow to get to safety lock
