Ice maker would not dispense ice
I first noticed that the plastic ice dispensing drive cup was broken and assumed that this was the problem. However, when I replaced this part, the problem remained. After further inspection, I saw that the drive cup was just another symptom. The drive rod of the auger is designed to be flattened on the dispensing end of the rod. The ice

crushing blades and the helix lock that mount on that rod have rectangular center holes so that they rotate as the auger rotates. On my helix lock, the center drive hole was worn down so that it was not rotating with the drive rod, allowing ice to jam and preventing cubes from being dispensed. I ordered and replaced the helix lock and front dispenser bucket auger nut (the original looked worn). Ice is now dispensed properly. However, when crushed ice is selected, the ice is not crushed well at all. I cannot see a fix for this problem.

Over the years the crusher dispenser and the cover had deteriorated. The Auger nut finally totally broke and the auger was moving freely within the bucket
I just followed the directions in the video which were clearly demonstrated and gave enough details to make it very simple to a) identify the parts needed and b) finish the repair.l

All ice was crushing, found washer & retaining ring in a cup
A broken bucket auger nut allowed the retaining ring to come off. The slop in the auger shaft caused the Dispenser Crusher Cover to break. Had to disassemble the entire cube tray; every piece, every screw. Use retaining ring pliers on the retaining ring so you don't damage the auger nut, which is very thin at that location. The auger nut

has left hand threads so be careful not to damage the old one if you intend to reuse it. Take a picture of the crusher blades alignment and note which location #6 7 & 8 blades will relocate to after your repairs are done. You must reassembly in the exact opposite order or you will find yourself backtracking. There are a lot of connection types so take your time and don't flex the rigid plastic very far. You can break some of the pieces with your hands. Good luck.
