Product Description

This is the replacement door stop, also known as a door stop bracket, for your refrigerator. It is made of black plastic, and is approximately 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. The door stop bracket stops the door from opening more than approximately 90 degrees. The stop can occasionally break, and this will allow the door to open more than 90 degrees. When this occurs, you will need to replace the door stop. This part is sold individually and is an OEM part.

metal door stop was broken which allowed the fridge door too much swing... impacting granite counter.
1. open freezer and fridge doors, remove plastic vent cover underneath doors, (two phillip screws) & close doors. 2. Illuminate work space with flashlight with the aid of a mirror placed on floor... underneath broken door bracket. Mirror provides view of the two inverted star screw fasteners/screws holding the broken bracket. Repl ace bracket & plastic vent... job done.

attaching door stop
The door must be removed to get at the screws holding the door stop on. The key is the type of screws. My model used the "star" bit for my screwdriver. That's a six-sided bit. Once the right tool was used, no problem at all.

Replaced door stop and door closing cam
Removed 2 long screws on each part, installed the new part and re-assembled. My GE Monogram refrigerator had screws / bolts that requiored a STAR bit rather than a socket. Keeping the star bit in the screw was difficult since screws are on the bottom of the door and longer than you think.Have the proper star bit and it's not that tough.
