- This genuine OEM replacement part is a bumper for your refrigerator. The bumper is made of orange rubber and measures less than half an inch in diameter. The bumper is used to prevent the fan motor from scraping against the side bracket in the evaporator fan motor assembly. You can find the bumper behind the evaporator fan cover in the freezer. If your fridge or freezer is noisy, it is likely that the bumper has worn down and will need to be replaced.

Noisy Freezer
Removed all content of freezer. Unplugged refrigerator. Removed ice rack and back deflector panel including Styrofoam piece. Removed freezer back panel. All simple push and pull or screw attachments. Unplugged motor connector and ground wire. Removed fan bracket with nut driver. Unit was then removed from freezer to conduct replac

ements. Removed fan blade (simple ring clip and pull off of motor shaft. Replaced items in bracket (required nut driver). Reinstalled all items. First time fix and worked slowly because of unfamiliar with the process. Total start to finish was less than an hour.

Fan was missing a left bumper from manufacturer & causing noise/vibration
Unplugged refrigerator then emptied freezer and removed wire shelf. In back removed phillip head screws. Removed circulation cowling & carefully pulled up and out styrofoam insert. Removed fan bracket & unplugged unit from tabs. Replaced front & back grommets and lid bumpers. Eliminated excessive noise from fan due to heavy vibration
