Product Description

This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This defrost heater assembly is designed for use with refrigerators. These heaters melt the frost that builds up on the evaporator coils during the cooling cycle. This kit comes with two radiant glass heaters that are joined with a wire. The heaters are each approximately 9 inches long, each can carry 500 watts, and 115 volts. To successfully install this replacement part you will need a nutdriver, pliers, and screw drivers. Before beginning this repair make sure you have unplugged your refrigerator.

frig. not working through defrost cycle.
Removed inside backwall panel on freezer side of fiig. Noted location of wire terminals for heating tubes & thermostat.Removed thermostat,replaced with new,then replaced heating glass tubes as well.Make sure you you see how the old heating tubes are attached to the metal mounts before replacing. Make sure when done that frig. cycles throu gh it's defrost cycle & drains some water into the plastic tray underneath frig.You will find frig.working great & frig. settings can be set possibly lower,since it's now working better. .

Freezer coils were frozen
I turned off the refrigerator then emptied out the freezer and removed the shelves. removed the screws from the panel inside the freezer and rolled it up out of the way. Then started to defrost the coils. When defrosted, I removed the hex head screws that hold the heaters and removed them and then unplugged the heater wires up where th ey were connected to the circuit board. Removed the coils from their brackets and installed the new ones and installed in reverse order.
