Product Description

The bake element found in the bottom of your oven provides most of the heat when cooking your food. If your oven is not coming up to temperature, heats unevenly, or is not heating at all, there may be an issue with your heat element, and it should be replaced. This genuine OEM replacement bake element measures 19-inches wide by 20-inches long, including the 5-inch terminals. The terminals for the element are male 1/4-inch spade connectors and have push-on wire terminals. Before beginning this repair, please ensure that you disconnect the power supply to your appliance.

Lower Bake Element Replacement
It was super easy! The lower bake element has 2 screws which are accessible by opening the oven door and they are located in the bottom right corner of the oven. I just unscrewed them then pulled out the baking element. There are 2 wires attached to the baking element which have slack and are easily pulled toward you by pulling out the element. One of the contacts was a little stuck so I used a pair of pliers to help pull them off. Once the old element was removed the new one was easily installed by connecting the wires from the oven on to the contacts on the element. They slide right on. Then you just push the wires and contacts back through the holes in the back of the oven and screw the 2 screws back in place.

Lower element burned in two pieces
The first thing we did was remove the oven door in order to reach the connection, which is in the right back of the oven. It was easy to clip the connection in using a needle nose pliers. Then we gently pushed the element back into the insulation and stabilized the element by screwing the plate to the back of the oven. Then we simply p ut the door back on. Very easy.

Replacing the lower electric heating element in the oven
I simply removed the racks then unscrewed the 2 screws and metal plate that secure the heating element in place. Next gently pull the element ends out a few inches and remove the clips that secure them. For this I simply used needle nosed pliers - they pulled off pretty easily. Next install the new element by sliding the clips on the oven wires onto the ends of the new element and push the ends of the element back into their holes. Finally, using the 2 screws you removed earlier, re-install the metal plate that secures the element in place. That's all there is to it...
