Product Description

This flat style oven igniter kit is a genuine OEM replacement part for your gas range. When the igniter glows white hot, the heat opens the gas valve and ignites the fuel heating the burner assembly. If your igniter is only glowing orange or red, or not glowing at all, it will need to be replaced. This kit includes the igniter, ceramic wire nuts, an insulation pad, a metal bracket, and a variety of plug ends. This kit can be used for both short or long igniters, and the bake or broil element. However, it is not compatible with ranges that require round style igniters. The igniter has an amperage between 3.3 and 3.6. The element is very fragile and should be handled with care. Before beginning your repair be sure to disconnect both the power and gas supply to your range.

Hi, I watched the video and this does not look so hard. I was about to order the part, but I have a quick question. My oven does not have a gas turn-off valve. I can unplug it from the outlet, but my question is can I make this repair without shutting off the gas? When I take off the assembly to change the igniter will gas be released if I don't shut it off? Thanks!

Hello, thank you for asking! For safety purposes, it is important that during the installation process the oven should not have any gas supply. We would recommend cutting off the gas supply to the oven during the performance of the procedure. We hope this helps!

Wall oven would take a very long time to ignite.
One of the 2 screws that holds the igniter to the burner assembly was stripped and difficult to get out. Other than that it was an easy fix.

Oven wouldn't light
4 screws to remove, unplug wired connection, removed old ignitor, replaced with new one. No need for extra parts or wires that came with kit. Only difficulty was lighting, and positioning to get to screws that held ignitor in place, otherwise simpler then expected. Saved myself $150/$200 on service call. Thanks to this site and some YouT ube searching.

The flat igniter no longer heated up properly
First I watched a few videos (from this site and on YouTube). Then I took apart the oven as directed, measured the old igniter, ordered the new one. When it arrived after a week, I cut off the coupler, stripped the ends to have 3/8 in. showing, used the ceramic caps to wire the new igniter in place. Replaced the insulation provided, screw ed everything back in place, connected the electricity and gas and was done. Because the oven is so old, it took a while longer than I expected to loosen the parts, but everything went back together fairly easily.
