we youtubed it. ordered the part. we unscrewed the glass cooktop. un pluged all the electrical wiring from the stove. put the top upside down on a pad on the table. bad element. hooked up the new one. we did this one wire at a time as to not mix them up. realigned the braces (the photos came in real handy here) screwed them back in place, put the cooktop back on the stove , reattached all the wiring, gave it a quick heat up test to make sure it worked and screwed it back in place. :)

Dual Element Burner was losing Heat / Weekened over time
This a Countertop Range from Magtag (almost 10 years old). Turned off circuit breaker. Pulled off knobs. Pushed Range top up from the bottom to lift out of counter (note: there was no anchors (screws) to counter) . Placed range on top of boards/slates over the cut out hole. Used Nut Driver to remove 12 screws (3 on each side) that atta

ch Glass top to the bottom base box unit. Note: the Glass top fits down on the inside of the base box and In my case really tightly (had to cut free some insulation tape with knife/razor blade to free the glass top from base box), Took two people to separate glass top unit from base unit. When lifting glass top unit out of the base box - realized needed to remove two more screws in the back left side that holds/position the electrical cable in place. Also had to remove 2 more screws in the front of the base box to allow the glass top to be lifted high enough to get to the burner elements. Finally could now changed out burner element - re-taped with new insulation tape and put everything back together. It all worked but it was more difficult than I thought.

middle radiant element of in both elements quit working
The replacement was really easy once you are able to get the top off the range. Unplug the power source after pulling the unit from the counter space. there are 3 screws on each side holding the top in place. remove the screws and lift the top so you can unplug the elements from their harness. this was a bit difficult as the top is heavy

and awkward. used the bock of wood to hold the top high enough to unplug the elements. I then turned the top upside down on the counter. before removing the old element I unplugged each wire on the unit and plugged each one onto the new element to be sure they were in the right position. Then remove the screws and brackets holding the old element in place. Secured the new elements turned the top back up plugged the elements in aligned the top in place secured with screws plugged in the power cord and put unit back in place on counter. the only difficult part I found was trying to hold the top up to unplug the elements and plug them back in that is wre the block of wood came in handy, it supported the weight of the top while connecting the elements.

Dual burner did not work.
Could not repair because the new part did not have the correct connections. Also, the new part was not a dual burner it was a large burner.
