A plastic kettle was left on the ring and melted into it!
It's a long story, but a cordless electric kettle was mistakenly left on the small electric ring, while the ring was turned on. The plastic base caught fire and melted into the ring, rendering it useless. It was a nice kettle as well... The old ring just pulls out of it's socket, the reflector bowl lifts out, and the new ones go back i n. You are talking about less than 15 seconds to do the swap. You don't need any tools, however, when I removed the ring from the packaging, the two "spades" that provide the connection for the ring were bent. Everything was sent in a padded bag, a box would probably be better. I was able to straighten the spades with a pair of pliers.

My 6" element broke so I needed a replacement
The install was just a matter of pulling the old one out of the plug area and replacing with the new one and just plugging it in. The new one is a little shorter in the plug area but it does work unless I bump it and it pulls away from the plug then it will not work. It also sits in the ring a little differently but all in all it works an d I am satisfied with the purchase. I would highly recommend this company for your parts as they shipped it very, very fast. I was impressed with the service. I will definitely order again from this company.
