Looking for ignitor electrode for Kenmore Gas Range Model 790.7433310, Serial # VF3415612. I can't even find a Kenmore Part # listed that I can look for an OEM replacement.

Hi James, thank you for the question. We have found that the burner electrodes do not come separately. It comes with the surface burner orifice holder. The part numbers for the electrodes and burner orifice holders are given below:
Right front orifice holder, part number FIX3490754.
Right rear orifice holder, part number FIX2345283.
Left front orifice holder, part number FIX2332710.
Left rear orifice holder, part number FIX2368569.
Middel burner orifice holder, part number FIX2368574.

my stove top really doesn't lift unless the burners are disconnected from the rigid gas tubing. however the screws and screw heads are all rusted in and deteriorated from years of salts, heat and moistures (not at all removable). I could lift my stove top about 3 inches with out crimping or cracking the tubes (be very gentle). because

Read morethe ceramics on the igniter was cracked thus didn't work anyway, from under the stove top I took needle nose pliers and twisted the bracket that's attached to the sparker and twisted it out of the hole and out of the way (unclipped the wire) slid the new sparker in the hole, pushed the attached bracket into the crack between the old bent down bracket and the burner metal with needle nose pliers (be very gentle not to crack the new ceramics). reattatched the wire clip and it worked. be sure to push the sparker up as far as the original sparkers or it takes a lot longer to light releasing too much gas (unpleasant). there is no real weight on that sparker so there is no real need for a great big screw to hold it in.
The part was exactly the right size for my model and worked perfectly. The repair however, as others have mentioned, was not so smooth. The set screw that holds the old part in place locks up and/or breaks off, in which case you have to either drill out the old screw or resort to adhesives. ... Read moread and shaft unsuccessfully, I ended up using loc-tite to hold the electrode in place. All this was done from beneath the burner by popping the range top up and propping it with a board. Tricky to put back too.
