This authentically sourced replacement carbon brush has a wire lead, brush spring, and bracket attached. This brush is sold individually, however, your tool requires two brushes to operate. If your motor is running poorly, worn brushes are the most common reason. A worn brush usually shows wear near the wire lead and sometimes has cracks or burns. We highly suggest checking the armature for burns at the same time, as this might indicate a more serious issue with your motor.

This is a single authentic switch activator button. Miter saws have a lockout mechanism on the switch, which stops the tool from being turned on by accident. The lockout is released by pushing on the switch button. The switch button can sometimes break or get lost and will need to be replaced. This is a very easy repair that does not require any tools. The switch button is secured with a plastic locking tab and can be removed by pulling it from the housing. To install the new switch activator button, position it in the housing and press it down until you hear a click.

This is an authentic Milwaukee replacement part. Carbon brushes are used in the chop saw to transfer electricity from outside the motor to the spinning armature in the motor. This is how the motor gets power. Due to the friction they endure these brushes will wear down over time, this is why they are one of the most common parts you will need to replace in your chop saw. Signs your carbon brushes might be worn down are that the motor is running intermittently, there are electric breaking issues, and engine is experiencing reduced power. This carbon brush comes with wire lead and brush spring attached. This carbon brush is sold individually, however some motors require two carbon brushes; we recommend you replace both at the same time, even if only one is worn out. To determine how many you need for the motor in your power tool we recommend you refer to model specific diagrams. When you are replacing a carbon brush be sure to inspect the armature, if there are burns, cracks, or other signs of damage this might indicate a bigger problem with the motor. Before attempting repair on your power tools make sure they are unplugged.

This part includes two OEM carbon brushes with the wire leads attached. Your tools motor requires two carbon brushes to create electricity for the armature. It is common for the carbon brushes to wear down over time, and this is why it is important to continually inspect them and replace them as part of your regular maintenance. If you notice sparks around the commutator, this may indicate a worn brush or a damaged armature, so we recommend inspecting both. To access this part you will need to remove the rear cover.

Installation Instructions

Gary from AVON PARK, FL
Armature was shorted (Used only three times)
Disassembly is simple enough but please remove the brushes before pulling out the armature. It is imperative as the commutator ring will catch on the brushes otherwise. Slipped in the new armature and installed the new brushes and reassembled. Runs smoothly and performs as expected. Old brushes were not worn at all as it was used very little but installed new ones anyway. Read more...
