Microwave exterior vent grille was broken

vent was cracked,and loose eventually they forgot to pu a latch on top

Vent Grill with Broken Gill
There are two snap-on grips that are integrated into the back of the grill, leaving one to believe that it's a simple snap-off/snap-on fix. The problem with retrofitting the grill (this is my THIRD replacement for this product in FOUR years) is that the snap-on grips do not line up precisely with the body of the grill. You have to really work with the grips to align them so that the grill snaps into place... even then, I have found the grills only snap on one side. The replacement comes with a metal grip piece that requires removal of a screw on top of the microwave cabinet but does not have any value to affixing the vent grill. Buy Kenmore! This microwave has been nothing but a pain since I bought it late 2009.
