Product Description

This is a replacement oven lamp for your microwave. The base is made of black plastic, and the lamp itself is made of glass. The base is approximately 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. The bulb is located inside the microwave duct. You will need to remove the outer cover of your microwave to gain access to it. This part is sold individually and is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

oven light had burned out
A bit of a hassle to have to remove the outer skin of the microwave oven (after having to remove the oven from its specially designed cabinet in the kitchen)...but with patience and caution it worked out quite well. A half dozen or so Phillips head screws had to be removed to get the outer metalwork off. After that, the new light was qu ite easy to replace....and the skin went back on without a problem. N. Locate lamp socket install lamp
I found several instructions on the website and found them adequate to complete the repair, except for the first step which was removal of the casing to enable the installation of the lamp, which, by the way, is the easy part. There are two screws on the side of the casing and six screws on the back that have to be removed to remove the casing. All of the screws except the two security screws on the back at the bottom can be removed with a phillips screwdriver. To get the last two off, one person suggested using a Dremel like tool to cut a slot and then to use a flat head screwdriver to remove those. Another person drilled those screws out. Both these are time consuming. I snapped on a locking plier instead, on to the screws one at a time and easily removed the two security screws. I used the same tool to screw those back on. This saves the screws intact and saves time.
