Product Description

This is an ice cutter grid assembly for your ice maker. If your machine is not producing ice properly, the assembly may need replacing. You will find this part in the main unit of the ice maker. The thin heated wires slice the ice into small cubes that are released into the bin. If your cutter is damaged the ice will clog up your appliance.

Cutter grid not heating up
It was an easy fix for a guy with absolutely ZERO appliance repair experience. I used a nut driver to unscrew two screws that were on each side of the front of the grid. There were two easy to reach electrical harnesses to unfasten, as well. The grid easily slid out and I had no problems inserting and securing the new grid. Just be very c arful when handling the new grid as I'm sure the thin grid wires could easily be broken.

Socket set
Wire on ice cutter broke and replaced with new assembly.
Use a 1/4" socket. Undo 2 screws for cover. Undo 2 screws for cutter assembly. Disconnect cutter plug and pull old assembly out. Replace with 2 screws, plug in, replace cover and done. Very simply. Will keep old unit and buy just the wire kit, rewire and have a spare.

Removed screws, disconnected wire and slide out broken grid cutter.Then put in new cutter, connected wire and installed screws Turned on and in approximately an hour had ice!

Replaced the ice maker wire cutting grid
Had had the wiring repaired twice without much longevity with the repairs. After a recent failure in the last repair, I found a Youtube video waking thru the steps of replacing the cutting grid and decided to purchase one and replace myself. Good move as it was very easy, successful and saved us around $300 over calling out an appliance serviceman.
