This door gasket is used to make an air-tight seal for the cabinet when the door is closed. Freezer door gasket is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part that fits some top-freezer refrigerators in these series: Kenmore 253; Kenmore Elite 253; Frigidaire BLRT, CFHT, CFTR, CGHT, DFHT, DGHT, FFHI, FFHT, FFTR, FGHT, FRT, FTHD, FTMD, GLHT, LFHT, LFTR, LGHT, NFTR and PLHT; Crosley CFTR, CRT and CRTE; and Kelvinator KATR. Freezer door gasket 241872509 is on the inner door panel and creates a seal around the door to prevent warm air from entering the freezer compartment. This freezer door gasket is black. It measures approximately 29.5 x 18.5-in. Replaces top-freezer refrigerator freezer door gasket part numbers 240514609, 240542109, 240542121 and 5304439524.

Food in freezer thawing out.
Left new gasket in house to keep it warm and flexible. Very good packaging kept gasket in flat state. Removed old gasket by pulling it off (no screws). Cleaned all metal surfaces. Installed new gasket by pushing lip into groove on freezer door. Corners were hardest part - they did not want to go in initially. Took fingers and push ed gasket in all the way around...finally got corners to "pop in" by pounding with my palms. Placed thermometer in freezer - holding temp around 15-20 degrees now.
