the frig is not defrosting and the timer is running fine, so I don't think its fix 117231171 and the defrost heater doesn't seem to be working???

Hi Robert, Thank you for your question. If the timer is working fine, we would recommend checking both the defrost heater where it does not seem to be working, and the defrost thermostat. You will need to test these parts for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting to see which one may be causing the issue. Before removing and checking these parts, please unplug the refrigerator from the electrical outlet. You should receive a reading between zero and infinity for the defrost heater. If you are testing the defrost thermostat when it is cold, you should get a reading of zero. If the temperature of the defrost heater is from 40 to 90 degrees F when you test it, then you will get a reading of infinity. If you receive any other readings then these parts will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
