Product Description

With this thermostat, a dryer's heating element will cut out if the internal temperature reaches 250 degrees Fahrenheit. The element will kick back in when the temperature drops to 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Differential of 60 degrees.

My dryer doesn't turn off in Automatic mode even though the clothes are dry. Is this the part I need to fix it?

Hello Jesse, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Dryer Cycling Thermostat. You will find this part attached to the blower wheel housing. With a multimeter you can test the two large terminals on the thermostat, they should read closed for continuity and the two small ones should show an ohms resistance value. low heat
first I disconnected the power from the dryer removed it from the wall. then I removed the ducking... Pulled rear panel, was real easy found all bolts holding it on on outside edges. Once panel was off was easy to locate heating element and thermostat was in element was 4 bolts holding element to ducking, I disconnected the two wires to t he element in the two wires to the thermostat and marked where they went.I replaced both parts and re-assembled as I took it apart

only warm heat never getting hot
removed the front lower panel with screw driver 1 min/ removed the three thermostats (easily identifiable/ first removed shield for heating coil for better access 10 min/ inspected connectors for looseness and tightened some/2 min/installed new thermostats paying attention to orientation 15 min/ test run for hot heat 2 min/ replaced front panel and moved dryer back in place 5 min
