Product Description

When the ice dispenser in your fridge is activated, the ice guide helps to ensure the ice flows into your glass. This is a genuine OEM replacement ice guide that is made of clear plastic. If your ice maker is not dispensing ice, or the locking tabs have broken on your current guide, you may need to replace this part. The ice guide is located in the freezer door, and you will need to turn off the ice maker before beginning this repair. You should not need any tools to replace this part, but a flat blade screwdriver may be helpful in removing the old ice guide.

Ice Guide plastic tab broke, Actuator replaced for cosmetic purposes
Putty knife to remove the ice dispenser/water frame. Once inside, pop off the old actuator, attach the new ice guide to new actuator & reattach actuator. "You Tube"showed me the way if you need assistance........

Ice dispenser problems
When ordering parts, be sure you know what color they will be. The website does not say and sometimes there is no photo available. Email them and ask for the right part number. The website will tell you a black part is correct for a white appliance. It happened to me. I sent it back but had to pay shipping. When replacing the ice dis penser parts, you can install the hinge part first, then install the dispenser arm with the ice guide attached. THEN attach the door to the dispenser arm. This is much easier than attaching the door to the arm first, and then trying to assemble it. With the new parts (especially the dashpot) it works perfectly.

plastic tab on ice guide broke off
I cannot get the tab into the slot - have tried pressing into place with screwdriver (as seen on video) but it seems like it doesn't fit. I am afraid if I apply too much pressure I will break it. Looks so simple in video - any suggestions.

As other reviews stated, the pressure is a little more than expected for a small plastic component, but the part fit perfectly and took me less than 2 minutes to align and install.

The ice guide missing.
I looked up ice guard replacement instructions on this site I unplugged the appliance, pushed the part up into place, snapped the tab into place and pushed the catch into place and replugged the appliance.
