Watched YouTube video, opened top of dryer, made sure switch was attached to dryer turning it clockwise to lock in place, held switch and pushed knob onto switch, closed lid.

Broken temperature control knob.
Slip (really, push) replacement knob onto shaft. It works. Unfortunately, knob doesn't slide in all the way, leaving a bit of an unsightly space; when the part was molded, some of the plastic dripped, also a bit unsightly; and the knob color doesn't quite match the off-white of the dryer and the other knobs.

two plastic knobs failed
took the two knobs out of their respective packages and slid the knobs on to the metal control rods....

The "D" Part Of The Knob Fatigued And Broke.
The broken knob fell off in my hand, I ordered another, and in 48 hours I was putting on the new knob by merely pushing it on the shaft of the machine. Dah!
