Replace upper and lowet dishracks
The lack of instructions or accurate drawings in the Owner's Manual and on-line, from either KitchenAid or PartsSelect, made the job extremely difficult. It took my wife and I three hours to move the plastic parts that needed to be reused from the old rusty racks. With the racks costing half the original purchase price of the dishwasher, I would not recommend replacing the racks. Better to find a model with stainless steel racks rather than the cheesy, vinyl-covered steel in the KitchenAid unit.

The tine row had bent and rusted, eventually breaking apart.
All I had to do was determine the correct orientation for the tine, so that I inserted the correct end into the openings on the tray. This was delightfully simple and painless. Thanks!

heat damages to lower dishrack
rolled out the old lower rack, popped off the wheels, installed the wheels on the new rack, inserted the rear tine row and rolled the new rack into place. It was almost as easy as changing a light bulb.

Removed defective tine-rows by depressing rusty ends from locator holes and slots. Reversed process to install replacement tine-rows. Easy process!!
