Holes in sump
Upon close examination of the holes, it looked like teeth marks. There were no cracks and there were no broken pieces anywhere. My son works for a company that supplies new parts to the appliance industry. He says in many of the dishwasher discharge parts they add a material that really smells bad to discourage rodents from chewing on the parts. He says they frequently get feedback that the the rodents smell the residual food in the discharge line, and chew through the parts. I put mouse traps under the dishwasher and caught a mouse three days after I installed the new part.
