Located on the door of front load washing machines, the Door Strike ensures that the door will lock by activating the switch, which in turn allows the appliance to run properly. If your washer door will not open or close, is leaking, or the machine will not start or spin, your door strike may be damaged and should be replaced. Regular wear and tear, or a misaligned door may cause the piece to break. This is an easy repair and requires a Phillips screwdriver. This genuine OEM part is made of white plastic, approximately 2 inches in length, and is held in place by 2 screws on the inside of the door. Simply unscrew and remove the old part, line up the placement of the new part using the notch, and tighten the screws back into place.

This kit is used for front load washers and includes 2 dual-stage shock absorbers, 1 spare shock mounting pin and 4 locking nuts. These shock absorbers keep the washer from vigorous shaking during it's cycles.

Two busted shock absorbers
The tight confines put a hammer out of the question, so I used needle nose pliers to work the pins out (using leverage against sections in the washer) and then bar clamps to force the new pins in. Bar clamps were critical to the successful installation of these pins given the lack of room I had to work with. Read more...

This door lock and switch assembly is an authentic OEM replacement part for your front load washing machine. The lock is used to prevent the door from opening while the machine is running, and the switch indicates that the door is closed, allowing the washer to begin its wash cycle. Attempting to open the washer door while it is still locked can cause damage to these parts. If your washer door will not open, close, or lock, you may need to replace the lock and switch. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your washer before beginning this repair.

Door would not close/latch.
Removed door from washer. With door on flat surface all the screws are easily removed to replace striker & door hinge/ bushings. Pay attention to bushings position when removing so as to replace them in the same position. Video shows a guy pulling the door gasket off to replace the door lock & switch assembly. Skip that & remove the top cover from the washer. Only two screws in the back hold it on & it's a lot easier to reach inside & pull the switch up than fighting with the door gasket. With the new door hinge, door closes easier & more solid than when brand new. Easy fix. Read more...

If your washer drum is not spinning, there may be an issue with your drive belt. The drive belt wraps around the motor pulley and helps the basket to spin. Other signs there are issues with the belt is if there is a burning rubber smell, or the washer is noisy while spinning. The belt is subjected to wear and tear, and over time it may wear out. This is a genuine OEM part that is made of rubber.

This is a drive belt for your washing machine. This part spins the basket in your appliance by connecting the drive motor to the drive system. You will need to replace the drive belt if your pumps are not spinning, your washer is not agitating, or you are noticing excess noise and/or a burning smell. This belt is black with six ribbings. To replace this part, you will need a Phillips screwdriver.

Place belt on the motor first. Then place belt on pulley on the left side and turn pulley clockwise. Hold belt tight and rotate clockwise. Be careful not to pinch your fingers. Before you buy a belt check your tub first. Grab it in the inside of the front of the tub. If it moves more than a little up and down like an inch or two your tub is shot or the bearings are gone. Found that out later. Check tub first than decide what to do. Read more...

Also known as a Door Boot Seal and is used in front load washers. This part is used to keep the clothes inside the tub during the wash cycle. The folds in the bellow allow the tub to move separately from the door during the spin cycle. NOTE: This part has been redesigned by the manufacturer and is interchangeable with the old design.

needed new bellow...full of black mold
It was actually "a handy man" who did the repair. The "instruction" that you provided me with sounded somewhat complicated, and at first he tried to install the rubber bellow from the front. I told him "no" it looked from your instructions he had to pull the machine out and unscrew back etc. I do not think I could have figured it out on my own...he did, and it is now installed and working. It is NOT an easy installation however...If he had not had your instructions, I am not certain he would have been successful!> but..."all's well that ends well." Read more...

Standing water inside the washers tumbler
An easy repair, this is a blue plastic part that has three solenoids (color coded) when the solenoids wear out, standing water overflow occurs and spills onto your floors. When you get your new part, remove the rear oval cover from the washer so that you can see what your doing, shut the water, disconnect the waterlines and pull the electrical plug. More important pry the top cover upwards from the back, enough to fit your hands, the top cover is held by 2 screws on the back, once you do that you will see the blue plastic part you will be replacing. (you'll need plenty of light) The part is held by 2 Phillips head screws, the one on the right is a little harder to get to. Wiggle the part off and replace with new part. My part didn't come with 2 new black rubber grommets so I used my old ones. The grommets are the most critical parts at this point. if you forget to install em you will have a leak and will have to start over. It took me less than 20 minutes to do this install and I saved about 2 hundred in labor. Read more...
