To access the exterior lightbulb, the bottom panel of the microwave will need to be removed. It is secured in place with screws, so will require a Philips screwdriver to remove it. Screw the new light bulb directly into the light socket. If this is the first time you have replaced this light bulb, the old light bulb might be held in place with silicone. This silicone will need to be cut off using either a utility knife or dental floss before removing the light bulb. Once this silicone and old bulb has been removed, the replacement bulb can be screwed in its place.

This halogen light bulb is a replacement part for the bulb behind the top grill in your microwave. It is sold individually.

Installation Instructions

Walter from Northport, NY
Unit has two bulbs. Both burned out.
Open the lens/bulb cover - one phillips head screw. Turn on safety light so its shining upwards. Remove each bulb - do not pull downwards - slide the bulb out almost horizontally. Since these are halogen bulbs I cleaned them off with rubbibg alcohol. I also cleaned my fingers. Leaning over the stove top (this is a stove top microwave), gently replace each bulb. You'll need to feel your way to ensure the two wire connectors slide into their sockets. Once both are done, close the lens/bulb cover and replace the fastener screw. Read more...

If the vent grille for your microwave has become broken or damaged, this is a genuine OEM replacement part. The vent grille is made of black plastic and measures approximately 24 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. Depending on your model of microwave, the vent grille may be found either above or below the door. This part is used to allow the microwave to vent while it is running. Common reasons you may need to replace this part is if the mounting brackets have broken, or the vent grille itself has cracked or become discolored.

This ceramic microwave fuse is just over an inch in length. It is white in the center, and metal on both ends. This is a 20-amp fuse, and is used to power your microwave. If the touch pad on the microwave becomes unresponsive, the microwave produces little to no heat, or the appliance simply does not turn on, it could mean that your fuse is at fault and needs to be replaced. Because this part contains an electrical charge, remember to disconnect power to the microwave unit before you begin this repair. NOTE: Before you start this repair, ensure that the microwave is unplugged, and the capacitor is discharged. A capacitor stores large amounts of electricity even after your microwave is unplugged.

Microwave was totally "dead".
This microwave is positioned above the stove and under a cabinet. The fuse can be replaced by leaving the microwave intact. First, unplug the unit. Use a phillips screwdriver to remove the outer exhaust vent cover. On the right (next to the clock) remove a 2nd metal cover (about 2" x 4"). Use a flashlight and look into this cavity right behind the clock. You will see the fuse. Reaching the fuse presents a problem as most hands are too large. However, I was able to remove the old fuse and insert a new one with a pliers. Be careful in 2 respects. First, make a foil tray and place it below the fuse. In case you drop the fuse, you can catch it. Second, grip the fuse firmly, but not hard so as to avoid breakage. Replace the metal cover and the vent cover and plug in the unit. BINGO, it works! Or it can be found in the bottom of the microwave and is used to illuminate the cooktop of your range. If one of the bulbs has burnt out or broken, it will need to be replaced.
