Rear drive wheels bald, no traction
9/16s inch socket, something to prop up one side of the mower (I used a plastic plant pot), and about 5 minutes was all that was needed. Undo the nut on the wheel, remove, replace it with the new one (can't mess it up - just goes on one way which is extremely obvious), replace and tighten the nut -- done. Just that simple. With the new kicks it goes up hill like a champ now (instead of spinning, especially with the grass catcher attached).

Wheels on this old mower were plastic and brittle and over the years broke off in pieces
Can't believe you all had replacement wheels for this dinosaur. They have drive gears attached to wheel. Very simple to fix but broke old exhaust chute on mower when I leaned it on its side. Now I have to find a replacement for it! Geeesh!!!
