Scott Grove

Scott Grove of Green Grove Design LLC, from Rochester, NY, is a multi-faceted woodworker, artist, and creative talent with 35+ years of experience. In addition to his award winning furniture and sculpture, he has real on-the-ground knowledge in a wide variety of trades, from home renovation to historical restoration. He has literally done it all.

In Scott’s younger years he flipped houses with complete gut and renovations, doing all the work himself with a group of contractor friends—from masonry, framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, tile, and roofing, to name a few—which led him into millwork and cabinetry. Currently an active member in The Furniture Society, Scott specializes in wood veneers and has exhibited in galleries and leading shows across the country with his unique furniture. His award-winning work can be found in museums and in the home of prominent collectors and corporations.

As a woodworker, artist, sculptor and designer, Grove works directly with interior designers, architects and private collectors. He lectures and holds workshops nationally as well as in the UK and Brazil on topics such as design, woodworking, specialty finishes, veneering, mold making and fiberglass construction. Grove also consults on marketing, workflow efficiencies, and product development for artists and manufacturers.

Scott has also has written a number of books including his most recent "Advanced Veneering and Alternative Techniques", for Schiffer Publishing. He writes for a variety of national publications and his work has been highlighted in publications such as Fine Woodworking Magazine, Celebrated Living (American Airlines First Class Magazine), Woodshop News, Architectural Record, Interior Design, Design New York, The Robb Report and the Los Angeles Times, among others. He has been featured on the syndicated Woodworking in Action series and HGTV’s The Furniture Show.

A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in environmental design and a minor in sculpture, Grove also studied at RIT’s School for American Crafts. Scott maintains a studio in downtown Rochester, where he produces commission work and speculative furniture as well as limited edition pieces.
